special offer

good morning to you. These two little vikings just came back from New York. They are part of an edition we had made for an art toy show at Kismet gallery.

Unfortunately the gallery closed and so these 2 "left overs" were sent back. Now they are looking for a new home.
The gallery price for one viking had been 50 EUR/65 USD , we offer them now for 30 EUR/40 USD plus shipping (Paypal accepted).
You can send us an email to: info(at)herzensart(dot)com and we can tell you the exact postage rate.
Thank you!
UPDATE: BOTH VIKINGS ARE SOLD. THANK YOU!

café au lait and books...

...2 brilliant inventions and energy boosters in the morning

yesterdays learning: a smooth froth depends on the milk you use. You always should take full fat (3,5%) milk. You see we even share useful hints and tips here ;)

What do you need to get started in the morning?

blown away...

viking girl for the women´s quota ;)

blown away...by the strong storm today and by the enormous number of blog visitors in the last 2 days.
We still cannot believe it! A special thanks to you folks, who left a comment here, or sent an email!

just a few bits for today:

besides making new vikings and angels, we are currently working on a stationary line and hope to get some of them printed soon.

Small Magazine again featured one of our toys, unfortunately this time they forgot to mention our name :)

For those of you having young children and loving handmade clothes with a folcloristic touch, check out violetta textiles. There´s also a website, but only in German

Last, but not least, wishing you a lovely weekend!

Oh one more thing.... the Whipup Calendar arrived and we love it!
The end!

whipup calendar 2009 available now!

living on the country is not that bad, at least it gives me time for writing here, while waiting for the post office ending their siesta and opening again. (On Wednesday afternoons they are expanding their siesta and don´t open at all)

I´m sure all you creative guys out there know the great and inspiring whipup site by Kathreen Riketson.
Now the whipup calendar 2009 is available. It is a calender of artwork from 13 artists (like Mimi Kirchner, Shula Hampson, Neta Amir, Abby Glassenberg, just to name a few) whose work has appeared on the website whipup.net. Have you seen who´s staring from the cover? Eric Bloodaxe wohooooo.

You can order the calendar here
Although the printing company is in Australia, shipping to EUROPE is really affordable, to Germany it is 3,54 EUR.

another one... you know what...

are you already bored about these paper guys? :)
I´m so sorry, but I can´t help. This cutting and gluing is still so much fun. Yesterday I recieved my copy of Keri Smith´s new book "How to be an explorer of the world" . Maybe her book inspired me to add some information about the used papers to the picture. I thought it would be nice giving the little paper pieces their identity back. For reading please check out the large version by clicking on the pic.

Last weekend I found some nice vintage bed linen at the flea market, they are waiting to be cutted.
Cornelia has already posted some pictures of our meeting on her blog. Mine are coming soon

Thank you Katrien and Pikaland for writing about us today!

Artful Blogging

this little blog has been published in the new issue of "Artful Blogging". Blue and I are damn proud :)

Linda Powell is an artist from Alaska. She made an incredible blue sheep for her next show in honor of Friederike! You can see the sheep here

We also like to say thank you for your kind words on the last post. Maybe the best part of making the little paper vikings was being "reduced" to a given bunch of papers and to create something out of these. Sometimes it´s better having less.
